Dr. Gabrielle Sadowsky, CCC-A

Audiologist

Gabrielle graduated from Arizona School of Health Sciences, a division of A. T. Still University, with her Doctorate in Audiology.  Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine is also a division of A. T. Still University.  Gabrielle's undergraduate and graduate studies were done at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, where she studied Speech & Hearing Science. 

 

CCC-A indicates that Gabrielle is a certified audiologist by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the FAAA signifies her membership as a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.  Gabrielle is licensed by the State of Arizona as a dispensing audiologist. She has received several  awards for continuing education.

 

Most of Gabrielle's career has been spent in either private practice audiology or working in an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) physician office. 

 

"I am hearing impaired and I feel that really makes a difference in how I can relate to my patients."

 

Gabrielle has over 17 years of experience providing diagnostic audiological evaluations and helping people enjoy life through better hearing.  She is the owner of DESERT SOUNDS Audiology & Hearing Aid Services.

 

On a personal note:  Gabrielle was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI.  She is married to John Sadowsky (almost 29 years),  has 2 adult daughters (Danielle and Clarissa).  She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, riding her bike, taking hikes, walking with her family (including two dogs), camping, traveling, and recently is trying to learn how to roller blade (inline skating). 

Chris Hatch, CPS/CAP

Office Administrator

Chris joined our team in January 2006 as our administrative assistant.  What a difference she has made in providing quality care for our patients.  She has over 25 years experience working in a variety of administrative functions.  Chris is a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).  She is a Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP). 

Chris will be reminding you of appointments and will call when it is time to have your hearing aids checked for warranty.  She is capable of trouble-shooting and making minor repairs to your hearing aids. 

Recently Chris is the office administrator and has CAOHC Certification.

On a personal note:  Chris recently moved here from Utah.  She has three grown children and three cute grandsons and a granddaughter. What a happy grandma! 

In her spare time, she loves to travel, and likes scrap booking. 

Dr. Kara Headington

Audiologist

Dr. Kara Headington graduated from Arizona School of Health Sciences with her doctorate degree in August, 2007.   She spent time in our office as a student during her 2nd year, again in her 4th year as an intern.  Kara permanently joined our practice in February, 2007 as a part time audiologist.

 

Kara is originally from Louisiana.  Kara, with husband Ed, recently had a baby girl (Nov. 2007) whose name is Noa.  Kara enjoys family time, reading, cooking, and is training for a triathlon.

Courtney Hendershot, B.S. , Temporary Hearing Aid Dispenser

Courtney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois and a couple of semesters in the Masters Program at Rush University. Her schooling has afforded her a broad base of knowledge that focuses on the development of speech, language and hearing.

 

Courtney joined our office in September, 2007.  She began as patient care co-coordinator and recently obtained CAOHC certification and holds a temporary hearing aid dispensing license. Unlike most hearing aid dispensers, Courtney has an undergraduate degree with a focus in speech and hearing science.  Courtney enjoys working directly with patients.  She checks and cleans hearing aids, assists with testing, hearing aid programming and adjustments.

 

On a personal note: Courtney grew up in Orland Park, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Starting at the age of three, she began training at a local dance studio where she studied various types of dance until graduating from high school. In August of 2004, she married her longtime sweetheart, Lance, before they happily left the cold Midwest behind and relocated to Arizona in 2005.  Just recently, Courtney and Lance welcomed the birth of their baby boy, Landon, who was born in May of 2007. In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending quiet time with her family.

Dr. Amy Ariss, CCC-A, Audiologist

Amy joined our staff, October 2006. Amy has several years of experience working for a large Ear, Nose, and Throat Practice, providing diagnostic services for patients as well as hearing aids and rehabilitative services.  She provides services for us on a fill in basis, often on weekends.

 

Amy may provide a wide range of services to our patients; however, her primary focus in this office is vestibular testing (testing people who have problems with dizziness or vertigo).  During the week she works at Scottsdale Healthcare and is our "Weekend Warrior," making testing available to our patients on most Saturdays.

Amy graduated from Rush University, a division of Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, with her master’s of science and Doctorate in Audiology.  Amy's undergraduate studies were done at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, Edwardsville, IL, where she studied Speech & Hearing Science.  She also maintains her CCC-A, FAAA, and is licensed by the State of Arizona as a dispensing audiologist.  She is an active member of the Arizona Speech and Hearing Association. 

 

On a personal note: Amy was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the central Illinois area. She has a Boston terrier puppy named Wrigley. She enjoys watching football (Go Bears!), baseball (Go Cubs!), reading, and spending time in the Arizona sun!

Amy moved to Phoenix a few years ago and lives with her dog.

Doreen Sharp, Patient Care Coordinator

Doreen joined us January, 2008.  She has great experience working front office.  She will assist you with scheduling your appointment, making sure we have your referral, checking your benefits and assists with walk in repairs.  Doreen makes everyone that comes to our office feel welcome and has a great sense of humor.

 

On a personal note, Doreen is married to Harold "Butch"), has 3 children and several grandchildren.  She originally is from Massachusetts in 2007.  During her spare tine she enjoys cooking, reading, shopping, making jewelry, doing Sudoku and spending time with her family.

 

Dr. Natalie Johnson, Audiologist

Many of you may recognize Natalie.  Natalie use to assist us with patient care up until March 2007.  At that time she left our office to obtain the appropriate clinical hours to complete her doctorate degree.  Natalie had a standing offer to come back upon completion of her doctorate and we are honored that she chose to return to our site rather than take one of the other offers she had.  Once again, she will be a great asset to our practice.  I know many of you are looking forward to seeing her back.

 

Natalie was raised in Las Vegas. She graduated from Arizona School of Health Sciences this August.  Natalie is an active member of her church and enjoys spending time with her family, especially all her little nephews and nieces.

 

 

Crystal Robinson, B.S. Practice Development Representative
Crystal Robinson was born in Utah and raised Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She graduated from B.Y.U. with a degree in Child Development and Family Relations with a minor in Psychology.  She is married to Frank and together they have 3 children.  Crystal has worked with Dr. Sadowsky off an on since 1993.  Originally they worked together at the office of Brent C. Sanders, M.D. (Ear, Nose and Throat Physician).  Crystal worked as a medical assistant to Dr. Sanders for many years.  She previously worked at DESERT SOUNDS assisting with medical billing part time.  Crystal spent the last 9 years as a pharmaceutical representative, making her the perfect candidate for our new position of Practice Development Representative.  Chrystal's primary focus is to introduce and market our services to physician's and other allied health professionals in the community.

Chrystal is very active in her church and enjoys doing crafts and spending time with her family.

Emma and Zac Tennyson, Loop Installation
Emma, worked at DESERT SOUNDS as a receptionist for several years.  Emma coordinates loop installation schedules with patients and Zac does the home installations.  

Both Emma an Zac are graduates of Red Mountain High School and were high school sweethearts.  They married in 2005 and recently had a baby boy, Jazz, December 2007.  Zac works full time for Infrastruct Security where he installs and maintains security systems.  Emma works out of the home co-ordinating loop installations and providing service calls to churches for Berean Christain Store. 

When not working, they are both enjoy family time and are very active in the church. 

 

Dr.  Karen Cook, CCC-A, Audiologist
