Assistive Listening Devices are for patients who have problems hearing in limited situations, for patients who can't use a hearing aid and for patients who have hearing aids or cochlear implants and need more assistance to help them hear on the phone, in group or noisy situations.
Assistive Listening Devices include vibrating alarm clocks with flashing lights, amplified doorbell ringer, amplified phone signaler, television devices, strobe alerting devices, amplified phones, personal listening devices, FM systems, etc.
We have many such devices available through our office. Please tell us about your needs so that we can help you find the equipment that best suits your lifestyle and current hearing device that you use.
Systems Available Through Desert Sounds Include:
- Bluetooth Systems connect to your hearing aids to your cell phone or television to improve your hearing.
- Pocket Talker: The pocket talker is great for patients who no longer can tolerate hearing aids, can't afford hearing aids, or have other cognitive difficulties. A battery-operated amplifier sits in your pocket while you listen through variety of available earphones and headphones. It allows for communication up to 20 feet.
- The Personal FM System is a separate transmitter and receiver that connects directly to your hearing aid via a telecoil switch or headphone.
- Television Loop System: This system connects to your television via a wire is run along the carpet of the area in which you sit to watch TV. It allows other family members to listen at a comfortable level while you to intercept the sound via your telecoil on your hearing aid.
- TV Ears allow you to connect to the television FM.
- The Sennheisser TV System connects directly to the audio output of your TV, DVD player or any compatible audio device and delivers high-quality sound to a set of earphones. A new Bluetooth device is available.
- Alarm Clocks are available that flash lights, change volume or pitch, and vibrate your bed or a combination of the above.
- Baby Monitor or Sound Monitor is perfect for patients with children, spouses, or partners who sleep in a different room. The receiver can flash a light to let you know there is a problem or it can activate the alarm clock.
- The Door Bell Signaler alerts you to a door bell ringing via flashing lights or interacts with alarm clock.
- The Telephone and Videophone Signaler alerts you to a phone call.
- Ringmax is an amplified phone ringer that lets you customize your phone ring for better hearing. You can quickly and easily increase the volume, then set the tone and "warble" to a pitch that's best for you. Four specially selected tone settings emphasize those frequencies easiest to hear. The Ringmax is perfect for the shop, garage, or other noisy environments.
